Tangerine Bowl 2003
Florida Citrus Sports presents the ACC vs. Big 12 in the 14th Annual Tangerine Bowl sponsored by Mazda. This year the NC State Wolfpack battled the Kansas Jayhawks on December 22, 2003 in Orlando, Florida. The Wolfpack were victorious on this visit to Orlando. Philip Rivers threw for a record-breaking 475 passing yards and five touchdowns to lead North Carolina State to a 56-26 win over Kansas. Senior Jerricho Crotchery also had a record breaking night with 13 catches and 171 yards. The Wolfpack had 653 yards of total offense and 8 touchdowns including Richard Washington's two touchdown receptions and T.A. McClendon's 116 all-purpose yards with three touchdowns.
